A Frog He Would A Wooing Go, Children's Book Illustration, Corbis

The louder the frog, the more the rain.

~Old Saying

Many folklore superstitions and remedies are associated with frogs and have long been a great source of divination. If a frog appears on your doorstep after a rain, it is believed to represent good luck and prosperity and is a sign of a new family member soon to arrive. Fine weather is in store if a frog’s skin is shiny, though dull skin is a sign of rain. In Japanese folklore, dreaming of a frog meant prosperity is on the way.
